Oops, I just wrote a novella on why I shouldn't dissuade people from seeing a movie due to a stars personal convictions... then deleted it.
Suffice it to say, the fact that Tom is a whack-job is not a reason to skip a movie that has nothing to do with his religious beliefs.
I don't agree with most conservative beliefs, but I try not to let a person's religion/politics affect the way I feel about them as people. For example, I think Michael Jackson is pretty nutty, but I still think Thriller is one of the greatest recordings of all-time.
I'm all for freedom of religion. But he went on TV (at least twice) and insulted women, an entire profession, and a fellow actor. THAT is not ok with me.
Sure, one person isn't going to make a huge difference at the box office. But I have been able to get four other people to not see the movie as well.

Oh, no! Please don't tell people to see this film. Just say no to Tom and his anti-psychology stance.
