Awesome Oscar Trivia

Martha Fischer, who posts on Cinematical, the best movie blog I can find, came up with an awesome bit of trivia today.

As you're probably aware, George Clooney today was nominated for not one, but two Academy Awards. One for Supporting Actor for his work in "Syriana", and the other for his work directing "Good Night, and Good Luck".

Your trivia... when George Clooney was appearing on "The Facts of Life" (yes, the same sitcom that featured Blair, Tootie, Jo, Natalie and Mrs. Drummond... and a young Molly Ringwald) one of the writers of the show was... Paul Haggis.

The same Paul Haggis who has now been nominated for Oscars two straight years. Last year for his screenplay adaption of "Million Dollar Baby", this year for directing "Crash".

Two of the five Best Director nominees worked on "The Facts of Life"!!!
