A Really Long Marathon

A marathon, by its definition is 26.2 miles. When I sign up for a marathon, I fully expect to run 26.2 miles. Not 26.1 and certainly not 27.2 miles. But, for unsuspecting runners of Chicago's Lakeshore Marathon, that's exactly what happened.

"Officials" mismarked the course, forcing 529 finishers to run an extra mile! That sucks. Sucks bad. The Chicago Tribune breaks down story.
